Natural Born Citizen

Did you know that Sarah Palin never said that she could see Russia from her back porch? Honest Engine…. Comedian Tina Fey said that she could see Russia from Sarah Palin’s back porch.

Go ahead — Google it! You’ll see….

I’m not going to write about Sarah Palin today — I just used that story as an example of how Truth can be so easily distorted.

And of course there are other examples — Ingrid Bergman didn’t say “Play it again, Sam” in “Casablanca” and Greta Garbo never said, “I want to be alone.”

You get my drift….

Okay, so…forget about the word “birther” for now. And forget about Donald Trump. And for the sake of argument, answer this question: Is Barack Hussein Obama a natural born citizen of the United States?

And if you said “Yes” what words of proof make you think so?

Article II Section 1 Clause 5 of the United States Constitution states:

“No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.”

Next question: What is the definition of a “natural born citizen”?

Talk amongst yourselves….

Did you know that nowhere in the Constitution is the phrase “natural born citizen” defined?

AND…there is no Federally-adopted law that specifies who is and who is not a “natural born citizen”!

Basically, anyone born within the jurisdiction of the United States is considered to be a “natural born citizen.” BUT…certain specific questions about that “general consensus” have never been legally answered.

For instance, I was born in the United States and so were both of my parents. I am a natural born US citizen. But what if my father was born in Ireland and never became a US citizen and my mother was born in Baltimore, Maryland? Would I still be a US citizen since one parent was not born here? What if my Irish father never even lived in the US? What if my mother, a US citizen, gave birth to me in Ireland with her Irish husband by her side and then moved back to the United States? Would I be a “natural born citizen”?

To this date, the Supreme Court, the only legal body that can determine just who is or who is not a “natural born citizen” has NEVER ruled on any case that would categorically remove all doubt.

So…is Barack Hussein Obama a “natural born citizen”?

The “general” consensus is that he is a “natural born citizen” partly because he himself says he is. And he’s produced some vakakta “Certificate of Live Birth” to “prove” he was born in Hawaii.

But! Birth Certificate or no Birth Certificate, it is a FACT that Barack Obama, Senior, President Obama’s father, was born in Kenya. In 1961, when Barry Junior was born, Kenya was still a British Colony. Obama Senior was a British Subject by virtue of the British Nationality Act of 1948. That very same act also governed Obama Senior’s children. Thus, Barack Hussein Obama, at the time of his birth, was considered a citizen of Kenya.

It is also a fact that in 1961, it was possible for a resident of the state of Hawaii to obtain a birth certificate for a foreign-born child by falsely claiming that the child was born “at home” in Hawaii. BUT! The U.S. State Department no longers accepts a birth certificate as proof of U.S. birth and citizenship — even if the birth certificate was government-issued and signed by a doctor — unless it specifies that the birth took place in a hospital or other “appropriate medical facility.”

And an interesting point of trivia is that every single President of the United States has been specifically considered a natural born citizen, except for Chester Arthur (whose father was born in Ireland and whose mother was born in Vermont) and Barack Hussein Obama.

And perhaps you are thinking, “Words, words, words…just a bunch of meaningless words. Who cares whether the President of the United States has lied…it’s all just words.”

But remember…Sarah Palin NEVER said that she could see Russia from her back porch. Words are very powerful…whether they are used correctly or incorrectly.

And PERHAPS the push to see Barack Hussein Obama’s long-form, notarized Birth Certificate is just a distraction. One REAL question that perhaps needs to be answered is, “Is Barack Hussein Obama a ‘natural born citizen’ of the United States?”

AND, another question…when is the Supreme Court going to determine just exactly what a “natural born citizen” is?

  1. NCF says:

Sarah Palin did say that you can see Russia from Alaska–which is true. You can, on some clear days, see Big Diomede Island, owned by Russia, if you are on the nearby coast in Alaska. The funny thing was, she said this in response to Katie Couric’s question about her foreign policy experience. That’s the reason that the answer was so ridiculous and why it is typical of what an empty-headed ex-beauty pageant contestant would say.

  2. Henry says:

Some facts are hard to swallow, and Obama’s eligibility to the US Presidency is one of them.

Pontius Pilate asked Jesus Christ “what is truth” and we read in Psalm 51:5, “Surely you desire truth in the inner parts; you teach me wisdom in the inmost place.”

With that in mind lets examine what the US Constitution states in Article 2 – Section 1– Clause 5: No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

Therefore, according to the American English dictionary the word Citizen means, 1. A person owing loyalty to and entitled by birth or Naturalization to the protection of a state or nation 2. A resident of a city or town, especially one entitled to vote and enjoy other privileges there 3. A civilian as distinguished from a specialized servant of the state

According to the American English dictionary the word Naturalize means, 1. To grant full citizenship to one of foreign birth 2. To adopt something foreign into general use.

Consequently, according to the US Constitution every member of the US Government must be a US citizen, either native born or naturalized. Therefore, contrary to popular belief, and in accordance to the US Constitution one must admit that President Barrack Hussein Obama is as legitimate as George Washington was.
